Transworld Group of Companies, established in 1977 in Mumbai by founder chairman R. Sivaswamy, is based in Dubai and operates in the transportation, logistics, supply chain and storage sectors. Under the leadership of Chairman Ramesh Ramakrishnan, the group has expanded to cover shipping, marine and logistics, building infrastructure and integrating information technology as part of its growth strategy. Its activities include ship owning of container, MPVs and bulk carriers, feedering, NVOCC, project logistics, supply chain management, container freight stations, ship management and shipping agencies. The group operates more than 30 ships and maintains about 32,000 containers, including around 7,000 special equipment containers. It runs five container freight stations in India and about 300,000 square meters of warehousing and distribution facilities, including 45,000 square meters in the Jebel Ali Free Zone. It maintains offices globally, with presence in Dubai, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Singapore, Pakistan and 28 Indian cities.
