The Mission of the Traverse Area District Library is to support the District’s diverse and changing population in its lifelong search for intellectual, recreational or vocational information and enrichment.  We are headquartered in Traverse City, MI on the shores of Boardman Lake.

The Traverse Area District Library (TADL) serves the Grand Traverse community through the following locations: downtown on Woodmere, East Bay and Kingsley branch libraries; the Fife Lake Public Library, Interlochen Public Library, and Peninsula Community Library; and the Grand Traverse Law Library.

The Main Library (on Woodmere) also houses the Talking Book Library (Grand Traverse Area Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped).
