Trees for the Future is a mid-sized nonprofit dedicated to environmental stewardship through agroforestry, training farmers to work with nature rather than against it. For more than three decades, it has promoted its Forest Garden Approach, which integrates thousands of fast-growing, ecologically appropriate trees with multiple crops to restore degraded land and support rural livelihoods. The organization is based in Silver Spring, Maryland, and serves farmers and their families worldwide, addressing the environmental and economic challenges created by unsustainable farming. By expanding agroforestry and diverse cropping, it aims to improve land health, increase resilience to climate variability, and reduce poverty within farming communities. In 2025, Trees for the Future announced partnerships with several partners to advance tree-planting and land-restoration efforts.
