Since its inception in 2007, Triton has gained notoriety with several world firsts, including the first manned submersible dives in Antarctica, the first ever filming of a live giant squid (Discovery Channel/NHK, Japan, from a Triton 3300/3 at depths ranging from 600-930 meters), and the world's first submersible capable of repeated dives to the deepest point of the ocean (and certified for 'unlimited depth') - the Triton 36000/2.
