Troy First believes that by focusing on four specific purposes, our church is given a sound basis for church health which promotes our glorifying God most fully. Learn Jesus commanded that we, the church, go into all the world and share His gospel. Sharing our faith is imperative. After all, He is our strength for living and hope for the future...this is news that we cannot keep to ourselves. At Troy First, we take Jesus' command seriously and share the good news both at home and around the world. Connect God has designed us with a need for relationships. Belonging is much more than casual fellowship. Rather, it's experiencing life together...challenging one another to grow in wisdom and grace, offering support during difficult times, celebrating each other's successes, and serving alongside one another. But even more importantly, God created us to need Him. At Troy First, we seek to have genuine fellowship with our Father through His Word and through corporate worship. Belonging to God's church means that we all are family with one another and with God. Grow God intends for His children to become like Christ, after all, we are called "Christians" for a reason. Growing in Christ-likeness requires a deliberate approach regarding a number of disciplines taught in scripture. Further, we believe people are made with a unique shape and that God wants to fashion each individual for a specific purpose. At Troy First, we seek to provide a structured environment for people to grow into spiritually mature believers as God intends. Serve God fits each of His children with a shape and gifts in order that they be used to minister to others. At Troy First, we seek to help believers discover and understand their unique S.H.A.P.E., consisting of spiritual gifts, heart (or desires), abilities, personality, and experiences. We also provide ample opportunities for the growing believer to serve and apply those gifts and skills which are being refined.
