The Tulsa Health Department is a public health agency based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, serving more than 675,000 residents across Tulsa County, including 13 municipalities and four unincorporated areas. Founded in 1950, it operates as one of two autonomous local health departments in the state, with statutory public health authority throughout Tulsa County and the City of Tulsa. It was among the first in the United States to achieve national accreditation from the Public Health Accreditation Board. As a mid-sized public health organization, THD concentrates on protecting and supporting communities in pursuing their health goals, addressing preventive care, safety, and population health needs. In 2025, the department expanded outreach with a mobile wellness clinic that travels to underserved neighborhoods to provide screenings and referrals, illustrating its role in coordinating local health initiatives and services within the Tulsa region.
