Twelfth Street Studio is a collaboration between longtime colleagues and previous firm principals Rick Penza (Rick Penza Architect, Inc) and Brandon Hicks (Studio Independent). With a strong emphasis on modern design the Studio believes in the collaboration of local artisans, craftsmen and fabricators to assist in delivering projects for their clients. Because of the large accumulation of these artisans in and around the City of Tampa the Studio saw an opportunity in establishing the firm in the centrally located Channelside District. With its' burgeoning independent eateries, coffee shops and theaters along with the many opportunities to establish a live/work situation Downtown Tampa and, more specifically, Channelside was a logical fit. The ultimate vision of Twelfth Street Studio involves the exploration of innovative and intimate solutions to the various components of a project through the use of local, collaborative craftsmen. We view the establishment of this firm and the design process not as work but as an integral part of our lives. We expect the same from our collaborators and clients.
