The Cullen College of Engineering is the engineering school of the University of Houston, established in 1941 and located in Houston, Texas. It holds ABET accreditation and offers both undergraduate and graduate programs across a broad range of engineering disciplines, with interdisciplinary options in subsea, aerospace, materials, and computer and systems engineering. The college enrolls more than 4,600 students, and its programs cover biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, electrical, environmental, geosensing systems, industrial, mechanical, and petroleum engineering. Its mission centers on preparing engineers to assume leadership roles, advancing knowledge through research, and facilitating the transfer of new technologies to industry and government, thereby supporting economic development in the Greater Houston region and the state. In January 2026, the university announced partnerships with the City of Houston and the Urban Enrichment Institute to train the next generation energy workforce.
