Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) is a higher education and research institution located in Ulsan, South Korea. Opened in 2009, UNIST employs between 501 and 1000 people. The university conducts science and technology education and research and has partnerships in areas such as energy harvesting, electrochemical production using waste glycerol, interface control technology for perovskite-organic tandem solar cells, and AI-driven energy and nuclear technologies. Collaborations include partnerships with Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), Korea Institute of Materials Science (KIMS), Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP), the Korea Display Industry Association, Hubio, and Justem. UNIST aims to be ranked within the top 10 science and technology universities by 2030.
