Umpqua Community College is a mid-sized higher education institution located in Roseburg, Oregon. It was founded in 1964 after a vote by Douglas County residents to establish local post-secondary education facilities. The campus sits amid tree-studded hills overlooking a bend in the North Umpqua River, reflecting its regional setting and community role. The college serves more than 15,000 students each year, with an approximate full-time-equivalent population around 3,000. In recent years it has expanded pathways through partnerships with other universities, including a pharmacy program in collaboration with Pacific University and a direct-entry Doctor of Nursing Practice pathway with Oregon Health & Science University. In early 2025, UCC helped establish Oregon's first surgical technologist apprenticeship program in partnership with the Ambulatory Surgical Center Association and the Southwestern Oregon Workforce Investment Board.
