Unimed Fesp is the state federation within the Unimed system that coordinates the cooperative health organizations of São Paulo. The broader Unimed system began with Unimed Santos in 1967, and soon after other Unimeds were established across the state and in various regions of Brazil. Within the national System Unimed, Unimed Fesp concentrates the largest number of affiliated Unimeds and clients, and it provides coverage across Brazil through the network of Unimeds in all regions. Cooperatives within Unimed operate under the Unimed brand and care model but remain independent economically and administratively. The federation is based at 78 Rua José Getúlio, São Paulo, SP 01509-001, Brazil, and employs between 501 and 1,000 people in the wellness and fitness services sector.
