Union Bank of Colombo is a listed private commercial bank in Sri Lanka, established in 1995 to serve retail, SME, and corporate clients with financial solutions. The bank is headquartered at 64 Galle Road Colpetty, Colombo, in the Western Province, and employs between 1,001 and 5,000 people; it operates 65 branches island-wide and offers multiple delivery channels including a 24-hour call centre, digital banking platforms, and an island-wide ATM network. Its subsidiaries include National Asset Management Limited and UB Finance Company Limited. The bank has attracted substantial investment in its history, including a USD 117 million investment by TPG in 2014, and since October 2023 indirect majority shareholding by CG Capital Partners Pte Ltd, an affiliate of CG Corp Global. Union Bank has pursued a growth-focused strategy with innovations in products, technology, and delivery platforms, including the establishment of a premier Digital Zone in Colombo and the launch of a simplified virtual deposit card for bulk deposits.
