The USFL is a fan-first professional spring league that delivers fast, physical, and fun football.

There are eight teams split into two divisions –– North and South. Each team plays a 10-week regular season schedule, with teams in the same division playing each other twice and teams in the other division once.

With a 2-week postseason, the top two teams in each division play against each other in the USFL Playoffs followed by the USFL Championship Game.

The inaugural USFL regular season kicked off on April 16, 2022 and ended with the Birmingham Stallions winning the USFL Championship. On April 15, 2023, the USFL became the first nationally televised professional spring football league in nearly 40 years to start a second season. Fans watched the USFL at four host communities in Birmingham, Canton, Detroit, and Memphis. USFL Season 2 ended with the Birmingham Stallions repeating as USFL Champions.

As a league of opportunity, 60 players from USFL Season 1 signed NFL contracts. After a highly successful second season, more USFL players are expected to sign with NFL teams and compete for roster spots.
