The United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) is the trusted labor relations leader for the maritime industry on the U.S. East and Gulf Coasts, where $2.1 billion in daily trade value flows through 14 ports. USMX manages all labor relations matters, in partnership with the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA), on behalf of longshore industry employers, including container carriers, marine terminal operations, and port associations, through implementation of the USMX-ILA Master Contract. Beyond the bargaining table, USMX ensures competitive wages for 25,000 longshoremen, provides safety and training programs, and administers and safeguards healthcare and retirement benefits for 80,000 longshoremen, retirees, spouses, and dependents.
