In Philadelphia, 1 in 4 families lives in poverty. That’s not just a statistic—it’s a reality we’re working to change. At United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, we focus on the big picture and the everyday challenges that keep people from getting ahead. We team up with businesses, local organizations, and government partners to tackle the root causes of poverty—and to make sure families have the tools and support they need to build lasting stability. We serve communities across Philadelphia, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties in Pennsylvania, and Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, and Cumberland counties in New Jersey. What We’re Working On: Helping people gain skills and access jobs Making sure basic needs are met—like housing, food, and healthcare Supporting education and financial empowerment Driving system-level change for a stronger future This work doesn’t happen overnight—and it doesn’t happen alone. But with the right partnerships and a shared commitment, real progress is possible. We’re not just imagining a better future—we’re building it, together.
