Based in Concepción, Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción is a traditional, autonomous private university in Chile’s Biobío region. Founded on July 10, 1991, it originated through the Archdiocese of Concepción and the university itself, expanding the academic activities of the ex Talcahuano campus of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. It is affiliated with the Consejo de Rectores. Academic activity is organized across two Concepción campuses, Santo Domingo and San Andrés. Its structure includes an Institute of Theology and an Institute of Technology, along with faculties in Law, Science, Education, Engineering, Medicine, Economics and Administrative Sciences, and a Faculty of Communications, History and Social Sciences.
