The Universidad Católica del Norte is a public-law higher education institution based in Antofagasta, in the Antofagasta Region of Chile. With about six decades of history, it sits among the country’s group of advanced universities within the national system and is rooted in Catholic principles expressed through Humanist Christian values. It was founded on May 31, 1956, through the efforts of Jesuit priests and benefactor Mrs. Berta González de Astorga, becoming the eighth university established in Chile and the third with a Catholic orientation.
