The University of Puerto Rico, founded in 1903, is a public university system made up of eleven campuses distributed throughout Puerto Rico; all campuses are accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.  With a vibrant academic community of over 62,000 students, 5,000 faculty members and 8,000 non–teaching employees, the University is the largest Hispanic Serving Institution in the United States. In Puerto Rico one of every two degrees at the college level is granted by the University of Puerto Rico.
