Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia is a public university in Indonesia whose core focus is education, pursued through its tridharma of teaching, research, and community service. The institution was founded in 1954 in Bandung as a teachers college and later transformed into a public university with wide autonomy under PTNBH. Today it is based in Serang, Banten, and offers a broad range of disciplines—from educational sciences and education-based fields to religion, humanities, and the social and natural sciences—while maintaining education as its central mission. 

Its development has included modernization of infrastructure and master planning supported by international partners, contributing to a green campus environment. In 2026, UPI announced a collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs to develop the Sekolah Rakyat program to expand access to education.
