The University Club of Chicago is a private, member-owned hospitality club based in Chicago, Illinois. It was chartered in 1887 to foster an appreciation of literature and the arts and to provide a space rooted in a shared educational experience for its members and guests. Its current clubhouse at 76 East Monroe Street opened in 1909 and was designed in a Gothic style by Holabird & Roche as part of Chicago’s early cultural development. The club operates as a mid-sized, board-driven institution that supports intellectual and cultural pursuits for its members and their guests. In late 2024 Patrick E. Cermak was named the club’s 71st president.
