University Heights Charter School is a public charter school in Newark's Central Ward, New Jersey, offering education from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. It opened in fall 2006 with grades K–2 and now serves about 658 students, the vast majority from low-income families and all identifying as minority. The school aims to develop character, scholarship, and leadership to support success in life, college, and community.
