The University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture operates as a campus-level arm of the UA System, established in 1959 to advance the land-grant mission through research and outreach. It serves as Arkansas’s statewide hub for agricultural science, with faculty based at UA-Fayetteville, UA-Monticello, and Arkansas State, and the state office of the Cooperative Extension Service located in Little Rock. The division works alongside the Dale Bumpers College of Agriculture, Food and Life Sciences, whose teaching mission is closely linked through joint appointments with many division faculty. Its work targets farmers, ranchers, and the broader agricultural community by translating research into practical practices that strengthen agriculture, communities, and families. Recent outreach and research activities include plans to install 20 high-tech weather stations across the state and ongoing work in livestock health and fermentation science.
