The University of Hawaiʻi Foundation is a private, institutionally related nonprofit organization based in Honolulu, Hawaii. Founded in 1955 to encourage private support for the University of Hawaiʻi, it functions as the central fundraising organization for the UH System, offering professional fundraising services to all 10 campuses and administering more than 3,400 gift accounts for the benefit of the university and its students. Although legally separate from the University of Hawaiʻi, the UH Alumni Association, and other UH affiliates, the Foundation collaborates with these entities to support the university's mission. It operates within the philanthropic fundraising services industry, serving as a coordinating and service-focused entity that channels private support to the UH across its campuses. A recent development illustrating ongoing collaboration occurred in September 2024 when the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo launched its third Vulcan Challenge fundraiser in partnership with the UH Foundation to support the Vulcan Athletics department.
