The University of Mazandaran (UMZ) is a research services university located on Pasdaran Street in Babolsar, Mazandaran, Iran. It was established in September 1979 through the merger of former local colleges and institutions and is supervised by the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology (MSRT). UMZ comprises six faculties and offers undergraduate programs leading to bachelor degrees in thirty-nine departments, with twenty-six of these programs extending to postgraduate study. Since its establishment, UMZ has awarded degrees to over 15,000 graduates, many of whom are lecturing and researching at universities and academic institutions in Iran and other countries. The university employs between 1,001 and 5,000 staff.
