A first-of-its’-kind university in the United States of America to provide world class opportunities for learning and research in Indian Fine Arts, Telugu Linguistics, Literature, History, Culture, and Performing Arts. With the goal to spread the spirit of Telugu culture, literature and tradition to the future generations, Silicon Andhra was established 12 years ago. Since its inception, Silicon Andhra has organized innovative cultural programs and has been a pioneer in bringing Telugu culture and tradition to thousands of people. Along the same lines, Silicon Andhra has laid the foundation for another historic program in 2013. For the past 60 years or so, Indians have been migrating to the United States for better careers or life styles. There has been no Indian organization or Telugu community that has taken up such an initiative in all these years. Silicon Andhra family proudly announces the launch of ‘University of Silicon Andhra’. University of Silicon Andhra (USA) has been incorporated as a non-profit in the state of California, in June 2013 and has its administrative office in Milpitas, CA. The University has 501(c)(3) tax exempt status for the Federal income tax and also the California state income tax exemption. All donations are Tax Deductible as per rules and regulations of IRS. With the intention to internationalize Telugu culture, arts and linguistics, the university will start offering courses starting in 2014, on receiving the required approvals from the bureau. Masters (M.A.), Diploma and Certificate courses in Carnatic Music, Kuchipudi dance, and Telugu Literature will be the initial courses offered. Masters (M.S.) in Computational Linguistics, leading to new-found career opportunities, is also envisioned as a future course offering at the University. We are working on obtaining all the relevant operational approvals. So stay tuned for the formal launch.
