The University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation functions as the clinical practice organization for the faculty physicians of the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. It provides clinical sites, technical and professional staff, and administrative services to support UW faculty physicians in delivering patient care, medical education, and research. It is the largest academic, multi-specialty physician group in Wisconsin and has grown through mergers with Physicians Plus Medical Group in 1998 and the University Community Clinics in 2003. Based in Middleton, Wisconsin, the foundation operates within the hospitals and health care sector as part of UW Health. Its primary stakeholders are UW faculty physicians and their patients, who benefit from access to advanced medical knowledge and technology across many specialties, including primary care. Recent growth in Dane County includes the opening of the Eastpark Medical Center in late 2024.
