Université Nice Sophia Antipolis (UNS) is a multidisciplinary higher education institution in the Alpes-Maritimes department of France, created in 1965 and operating across Nice, Cannes, Menton, and Grasse as part of the Sophia Antipolis technopole. Since 27 February 2015, it has been a member of the Université Côte d'Azur (UCA) consortium. The university comprises nine Unités de Formation et de Recherche (UFRs), two Institutes, and two Schools (Polytech Nice Sophia and Ecole Supérieure du Professorat et de l'Education), with 12 main campuses and about 300,000 square meters of facilities. It hosts more than 29,000 students annually and employs around 2,770 staff, including 1,160 tenured researchers and lecturers, 427 contract staff, and roughly 1,300 administrative and support personnel. Approximately 200 theses are defended each year, reflecting active research activity.
