Upper Moreland Township is a local government entity responsible for governing a 7.5-square-mile area in the northeastern corner of Montgomery County, within the Philadelphia metropolitan region, about 15 miles north of downtown Philadelphia. Based in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, it serves residents and local businesses through municipal services and administration. The township is bordered by Hatboro, Upper Dublin, Abington, Bryn Athyn, and Lower Moreland, with Bucks County to the north, and operates with a mid-sized staff. In recent years, the township has supported infrastructure and community initiatives, including participation in regional trail network development. In 2024 it secured $2.4 million in special funding to develop the Power Line Trail as part of Montgomery County's larger trail network. Governance actions have included safety-focused decisions, such as denying a permit for the June Fete in 2024 due to safety and security concerns.
