The Upstate South Carolina Alliance is a nonprofit organization focused on regional economic development in the Upstate region of South Carolina, established in 2000. Its purpose is to help Upstate SC compete in the global economy through strategic marketing, collaboration, and thought leadership. The alliance coordinates efforts across ten counties—Abbeville, Anderson, Cherokee, Greenville, Greenwood, Laurens, Oconee, Pickens, Spartanburg, and Union—and relies on support from more than 180 public and private sector partners to improve prosperity and quality of life. Based in Greenville, the organization is small to mid-sized and concentrates on strengthening regional competitiveness and guiding development initiatives.
