UA SAFE Schools are tuition-free private high schools that offer a unique Student-Athlete-Focused Education (SAFE) to student-athletes from disenfranchised communities with career aspirations of professional sport competition and/or job security in the sport industry. The new SAFE School model is comprehensive and provides a framework for student-athlete success that extends beyond sport competition. This framework is designed to broaden their understanding of what it means to be a model student-athlete. It encourages them to achieve their full potential and continues to provide support throughout their high school years. It helps them transition from high school by integrating college and career preparation programs that include mentoring, job-shadowing and internships that align with their career ambitions. After graduation, student-athletes are automatically enrolled into the Brotherhood. The Brotherhood is UA SAFE Schools’ alumni network designed to help students-athletes maintain and sustain lifelong relationships, support graduates in their pursuit of excellence, keep strong and mutually beneficial ties to the school, and foster goodwill within the community.
