Urbanity Dance is a nonprofit performing arts organization based in Boston, Massachusetts. Founded in 2011 by director Betsi Graves, the organization seeks to elevate contemporary dance within Boston's cultural landscape, expand access to affordable and accessible dance training, and use dance to support bodily autonomy and creativity in local schools and community spaces. Its work is organized around three pillars—Company, School, and Community—which together provide a platform that connects professional artists with students and communities, fostering collaboration and ongoing engagement in the arts. Its programs create a network that offers high-quality art experiences for people of diverse ages and backgrounds while also providing paid opportunities for dancers, dancemakers, and teachers who contribute to Urbanity's mission. The organization focuses its activities in the South End neighborhood of Boston and aims to serve the city more broadly. In December 2024, Anmol Mehra retired from the role of Chair of the Board after 13 years of leadership.
