Classified under drafting services, US BIM is a full-service 3D modeling and clash coordination firm. We generate accurate 3D parametric models based on 2D construction documents. Although we are skilled with all CAD-based software, we prefer to model 100% in Autodesk Revit. When we founded US BIM Services in 2015, our goal was to assist the AEC industry with what we believe is the right way to clash and coordinate construction projects. We base this on our in-field, hands-on experience with all phases of construction. We start in the pre-construction phase, as early as mass modeling the shape of the structure with FORMIT 360. While using INSITE 360 to monitor the mass model, we can leverage reliable performance data with real-time feedback. This feedback provides us insight into energy, heating, cooling, daylighting, and solar data. While all of this is happening, we are able to simultaneously combine the FORMIT 360 mass model into a full parametric Revit model. While assisting the architect during the DD phase of the project, we can link the Revit model to Navisworks Manage, where we can quantify material, run 4D simulated schedules, and extrapolate cost, known as 5D simulation. Other services include real-time clash coordination with Glue 360, featuring hosted weekly coordination meetings in Navisworks Manage. We model electrical, mechanical pipe and duct, plumbing, fire protection, and metal stud framing, providing shop drawings for all trades. We quickly and accurately add additional 3D model details as needed to all above interstitial ceiling areas: ACT grids, GYP grid, metal stud framing with CRC, diagonal kickers at wall bracing, and, most importantly, door jamb studs. We model the content according to the architect's details while referencing http://www.usgdesignstudio.com and http://www.clarkdietrich.com/, among others, pulling rich parametric content from various manufacturers’ websites or building our own custom content.
