The United States Pacific Command (USPACOM) is a U.S. military geographic combatant command responsible for security, stability, and freedom across the Asia-Pacific region. It is one of six geographic Unified Combatant Commands and reports to the President through the Secretary of Defense, led by the Commander, USPACOM. The command's area of responsibility spans roughly half the globe, from the waters off the U.S. West Coast to the western border of India and from Antarctica to the North Pole, with headquarters in Hawaii and four component commands (U.S. Pacific Fleet, U.S. Pacific Air Forces, U.S. Army Pacific, and U.S. Marine Forces, Pacific). USPACOM coordinates with partners across 36 Asia-Pacific nations to address security challenges, disasters, and humanitarian needs, deploying forces across the region as required. In April 2026, USPACOM announced a collaboration with United States Forces Korea to enhance civil-military and humanitarian planning for natural disasters and complex emergencies on the Korean peninsula.
