Vala-Christensen provides a broad range of landscape architecture and design services for residential clients, developers, public agencies and other design consultants. From our offices in Portland, Oregon, we’ve designed projects across the U.S. and around the world, and we specialize in work throughout the Inter-mountain West. Some recent projects include, mountain estates and destination resort properties.

Working together, our team shares a common philosophy to design landscapes that complement the natural characteristics of each site and the built environment. Our goal on every project is to ensure that our designs stand the test of time and blend seamlessly into their site settings. We work with every client to make sure that project goals are met and to coordinate the design process from construction drawings through field supervision. Vala-Christensen Landscape Architects are committed to using drought-resistant native plants and materials and championing sustainability.

Principals David Vala and Dean Christensen have nearly five decades of architecture and landscape architecture experience. The two founding members have worked together for more than a decade, collaborating on design and implementation in the field.
