The Veterinary Hospitals Association (VHA) is a not-for-profit, member-driven organization established in 1984 and based in South Saint Paul, Minnesota. It represents nearly 400 member veterinary practices and aims to improve the profitability of individual clinics by offering services that reduce costs or increase revenue. The organization formed from veterinarians' efforts to improve hospital methods and efficiency and to collaborate with other veterinary groups. Since its early years, VHA has operated a group purchasing program launched in 1985 that shapes product availability and pricing in the veterinary market, and it established a pet cremation service in 1986 as a core offering. More recently, the association has pursued partnerships to broaden the support available to member clinics, including a 2020 collaboration with Heska Corporation to provide diagnostic and specialty products.
