Our story began in 1979 when Viking started as a crating company. We served local manufacturers, primarily those in the oil industry. Soon after, we branched into the aviation market by producing ATA plastic containers. At the request of our aviation customers, we became experts in U.S. DOT dangerous goods packaging.

As part of this, we began manufacturing and testing packaging materials such as shipping boxes and corrugated boxes to ensure the legal shipment of dangerous goods, both domestically and internationally. With our expertise in dangerous goods regulations, we decided to further increase our services by performing the required training and consultation for individuals and companies who need help ensuring compliance with federal regulations.

In 2005, David Weilert, through Weilert Enterprises, Inc., purchased Viking Packing Specialist. Since that time, we have worked to maintain Viking’s reputation, while adding new capabilities, products, and equipment. In 2016, Viking Packing Specialist purchased GSI Logistics, Inc. in Dallas. Then in 2021, Perimeter Crating & Packaging Corporation in Austin was purchased. FCA Packaging then acquired Viking Packing Specialist in 2025, forming a partnership to bring capabilities and enhancing service offerings to customers nationwide.

After 40+ years, we’ve built a reputation of getting the job done quickly and efficiently. As we continue to expand, our goal will always be to ensure our customers’ satisfaction.
