Virginia Housing is a financial services organization based in Richmond, Virginia, established in 1972 by the General Assembly to help Virginians attain quality, affordable housing. It works through public-private partnerships with local governments, community service organizations, lenders, Realtors, developers, and other partners. The organization provides mortgages for first-time homebuyers, supports the development of apartment communities and neighborhood revitalization, and helps people with disabilities and the elderly make their homes more livable. It also administers the federal Housing Choice Voucher and Housing Credit programs in Virginia.

Operating in the financial services sector, Virginia Housing focuses on housing affordability and community development across Virginia. In 2026 it has engaged in several partnerships—such as with Ferrum College, the NAACP Virginia State Conference, HiveASMBLD with Virginia Tech and Habitat for Humanity, and Richmond Habitat for Humanity—to advance education, justice, and innovative construction initiatives.
