The Vitra Design Museum is a leading institution focused on the research and presentation of design, examining its connections with architecture, art, and everyday culture. Based in Weil am Rhein, Germany, it hosts two major annual exhibitions in its main building designed by Frank Gehry, with additional shows in a neighboring gallery, and curates programming that often addresses contemporary themes such as future technologies, sustainability, mobility, and social awareness alongside historical design topics. Its activities are supported by a collection that includes key design objects and the estates of notable designers, with researchers able to access its library and archive by request. The museum develops exhibitions for touring and supplements its program on the Vitra Campus with events, guided tours, and workshops, extending its reach beyond the permanent site.
