Voice of the Faithful is a lay Catholic organization founded in 2002 in response to the sexual abuse crisis within the Catholic Church. It began in a church basement in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and has grown to include affiliates in more than 150 parishes and a membership numbering in the tens of thousands. Based in the Boston area, the group operates within the religious institutions sector and seeks to provide a voice for lay Catholics to participate in governance and guidance of the Church. The organization serves lay Catholics seeking involvement in church governance and accountability, addressing concerns about governance and transparency within the Catholic Church. It has produced research on diocesan online financial transparency, including a 49-page study titled Measuring and Ranking Diocesan Online Financial Transparency. In January 2024, Voice of the Faithful participated in a collaborative dialogue with clergy and laity through partnerships with Faithful, Inc. and Discerning Deacons.
