Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana is a nonprofit organization operating as a locally managed affiliate of the Volunteers of America national network. Based in New Orleans, it serves 16 parishes in south Louisiana through programs for children, families, people with disabilities, and seniors. The organization reports that it helps more than 63,000 people annually, delivering a range of services designed to address needs arising from poverty and hardship. Its roots trace back to 1896, when the national organization began on the streets of New Orleans with a mission to assist women and children in poverty. As part of VOA’s longstanding national charity framework, VOASELA operates with local management and governance in the region. In March 2026, the affiliate hosted the Vantage Point Breakfast at the Audubon Tea Room to celebrate 130 years of service to the Greater New Orleans community.
