VWE is an independent organisation that provides services for the motor vehicles trade and related parties. VWE has developed into an authority on services for the motor vehicle trade. Over the years we have built up strong national and international ties with authorities and organisations involved in this specific sector. VWE’s head office is located in Heerhugowaard. Our more than 160 employees work at the Heerhugowaard head office and at our service units in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Raamsdonkveer and Barneveld. VWE is an RDW information provider, RDW communication provider, customs agent, insurance agent, customs software provider and manufacturer of number plates. By bundling these functions, we are able to offer a comprehensive range of services and products. The RDW registration number register has been linked to databases containing supplementary vehicle information and advanced data storage systems. This allows VWE to provide online vehicle registration-related standard and customised products and services. Until 2004, we offered our online services under the name of VWE-ExtraNet and Voertuig.nl. Approximately 8,000 companies use VWE’s online application for such purposes as RDW and customs notifications, retrieval of technical information about vehicles, registration of insurance policies and the valuation and advertising of vehicles.
