Wabash Valley Power Alliance is a not-for-profit generation and transmission cooperative headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. It provides wholesale electricity to 21 member distribution cooperatives in Indiana and Illinois that serve more than 284,000 residential and business members, functioning as a cooperative of cooperatives rather than a traditional utility. WVPA operates in the utilities sector and employs 51-200 people. The cooperative relies on a diversified mix of fuel sources—coal, natural gas, nuclear, landfill gas, solar, and wind—to manage risk and help maintain relatively stable electricity rates. WVPA has a history of involvement in industry initiatives and programs, including roles in ACES, Touchstone Energy, and MISO, and it has developed Power Moves energy efficiency programs and Co-op Solar; it launched the Community Development Grant Program in 2025 and has formed partnerships with Keystone Cooperative and Corn Belt Energy to support member communities.
