Wachusett Precision Tool (WPT) is a full service provider for medical products, medical device and packaging industries.  WPT’s team is experienced in building a full range of prototype, pilot and class 101 production molds.  Our team is experienced in building molds and getting them through qualification, validation and into production.  We are more than “mold builders” as many of our key employees have come from the medical device manufacturing industry and have built and validated 100’s of medical molds for manufacturing  globally.  ​

WHAT WE DO
Wachusett Precision Tool (WPT) helps customers take their products from “Concept to Production”.  WPT offers full support through the development cycle of medical products, medical devices and complex packaging solutions.
 
WPT offers quick turn prototype solutions and has the capabilities to mold small quantities of parts for Design Verification and Human Factor Studies.
 
Moving out of early development and into the pilot phase we are able to build pilot molds that will replicate high cavitation production molds.  We use Scientific Injection Molding (SIM) practices to develop a process and complete a comprehensive Mold Factory Acceptance Test (MFAT).  This includes a complete First Article Inspection (FAI) and Process Capability Study (PCS) along with challenging the process to develop an Operational Qualification (OQ) high and low process window.  A complete De-Couple II summary report is included in the MFAT.  WPT can also mold small production runs to support other development activity.
 
Class 101 Production molds are built to the highest standards leveraging all the learnings from the development cycle.  Production molds follow the same stringent MFAT qualification protocol as the pilot molds. WPT can also support small production runs to support customers as required.
