War Child UK is a non-profit organization based in London, formed in 1993 in response to the conflict in the Balkans. The charity focuses on protecting children affected by war by addressing the disruption to family life, homes, and education, and by providing support to the most vulnerable young people to help prevent the cycle of conflict from tearing lives apart. Its work centers on delivering services and interventions that offer children a lifeline and a sense of hope for the future, recognizing that children are not the ones who start wars but are disproportionately impacted by them. The organization operates within the broader international humanitarian sector, aiming to reduce the harm experienced by children in war zones and to support communities as they recover. War Child UK is headquartered in London and serves a wide range of communities affected by armed conflict, pursuing its mission through programs designed to safeguard education, safety, and psychosocial well-being for children and their families.
