Warrior Met Coal Inc is a U.S.-based mining company focused on non-thermal metallurgical coal used in steelmaking. It operates large-scale underground longwall mining in Alabama, where the Blue Creek seam yields coal with very low sulfur and strong coking properties, comparable to premium hard coking coal from Australia. The company supplies premium met coal to steel manufacturers worldwide, including customers in Europe, South America, and Asia, and exports a significant portion of its production. The coal serves as base feed for steelmakers, and Warrior's price realizations are near the Platts Index price.

Within the mining industry, Warrior Met Coal competes with major global producers such as BHP and Glencore, as well as U.S. peers including Alpha Metallurgical Resources and Coronado Global Resources. The company is based in Brookwood, Alabama, and pursued expansion with the Blue Creek Mine development in Tuscaloosa, announced in early 2026, which is expected to create more than 300 new jobs in the area.
