Washington Association for the Education of Young Children (WAEYC) is a professional association for those working with children ages birth through eight years old in Washington. WAEYC has 11 local Affiliate Chapters and 1600 members throughout the state. Our Mission: We provide services to members and advocate for policies that enable individuals and businesses to provide high-quality early learning experiences for young children. Our Vision: Early childhood professionals are well-qualified, competent and highly compensated, and early childhood programs are of high-quality. Systems that nurture and support high-quality are in place, and financial resources for professional development and program operations are available. Our Values: WAEYC is dedicated to “serve and act on behalf of the needs, rights, and well-being of all children” as set forth by NAEYC. We value service to children, which is based on knowledge of child development and an understanding of the importance of the child’s family, culture and community.
