Our Mission: “The Washington County Museum ignites the imagination for the enrichment of our community.” WCM tells the story of Washington County, Oregon from fruits and nuts all the way to chips and wafers! We actively engage the public in learning how our pioneering spirit from agriculture to the high tech industry growth have shaped one of the most innovative and diverse regions of the nation. The WCM Exhibition & Education Center, which is located in the Hillsboro Civic Center, features interactive exhibitions on the humanities, arts and sciences. We provide learning opportunities through field trips, workshops, lectures, and outreach programs. The Hillsboro facility also includes the l Museum Store with books about local history, community souvenirs and locally made items. The Administration Office, Archives & Artifact Repository are located on the Rock Creek Campus of Portland Community College. The Rock Creek facility houses an extensive historical collections about the people, places and events throughout the county's past. The Archives includes over 150,000 items, including over 60,000 images. The Artifact Repository encompasses over 20,000 artifacts.
