Water & Sanitation for the Urban Poor (WSUP) is a non-profit organization focused on improving water and sanitation services for people living in rapidly expanding urban areas in Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. It pursues inclusive and climate-resilient urban WASH through innovative practices, strategic partnerships, and policy engagement. The organization is based in London, England, and concentrates on delivering city-scale improvements that benefit low-income communities. As part of its 2025–2030 Strategic Plan, WSUP aims to Roll Out Regulation in Africa to advocate for pro-poor policies that improve service delivery for low-income communities, scale up shared sanitation for better child health, and promote climate-resilient WASH services. More recently, the international wing has contributed to developing a WASH Sector Development Plan, including work with the FSM network and a menstrual hygiene management platform, in collaboration with the Policy Support Branch under the Ministry of Local Government.
