WATT Fuel Cell designs and manufactures solid oxide fuel cell systems that generate electricity from readily available fuels such as propane and natural gas. The company also offers a Hybrid Power Management System that integrates renewable energy sources with energy storage to deliver power from the most appropriate source at the moment of need. Its products target small-scale applications, including RVs and boats, residential homes, and industries such as oil and gas, rail, and telecommunications. Headquartered in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, WATT operates in Western Pennsylvania, a region with a long history of energy innovation. Founded in 2010 by fuel cell industry veterans, the company has developed a manufacturing approach that uses 3D-printed components and a balance-of-plant built from off-the-shelf parts to produce power systems ranging from about 500 watts to 10 kilowatts. In May 2025, WATT announced a partnership with Essential Utilities to install the next-generation WATT HOME solid oxide fuel cell system in Peoples Natural Gas' Western Pennsylvania service territory.
