Waukegan to College (WTC) empowers students and families to make college dreams a reality. Our mission is to prepare Waukegan students to enter and succeed through college by providing long-term support that starts in elementary school and continues through college graduation.

We believe talent is universal, but opportunity is not. In partnership with families, schools, volunteers, and community organizations, we’re closing the opportunity gap and helping students become the first in their families to graduate from college.

Our holistic approach includes academic tutoring, mentoring, family workshops, college readiness programming, financial aid guidance, and leadership development. Families are at the heart of our work and we engage parents as partners and equip them with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to advocate for their children’s education.

Since our founding, WTC has grown from serving a handful of students to reaching hundreds each year, building a powerful college-going culture across the Waukegan community. Together, we’re investing in a future where every student—regardless of zip code or background—can achieve their dreams and uplift generations to come.
